Clinical Informaticist Clinical Services Lab, LLC


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in clinical informatics, bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, computer science or related quantitative field; graduate degree a plus
  • Knowledge of current bioinformatics approaches, databases, information system with an emphasis on large-scale data sets.
  • Excellent programming skills
  • Strong understanding of statistics and next generation sequencing data generation and analysis, as demonstrated through previous work or academic experience
  • Experience with human genetics, next generation sequencing data, molecular diagnostics, or health informatics is an asset.
  • Experience with health/medical system privacy and security is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating ability to understand objectives of clinical laboratory, regulatory and compliance topics.     
  • Meticulous attention to detail


The clinical informaticist will use bioinformatics and informatics technology in order to develop and maintain systems for a molecular diagnostics lab that performs next generation sequencing. This requires an appreciation of regulatory and compliance considerations as well as a desire to bring innovation and ingenuity to the challenge of working within that framework.  

The clinical informaticist will:

  • - Participate in data processing and quality control, including development of tools to facilitate process improvement
  • - Work with the lab information management system to ensure health privacy
  • - Contribute to the quality management and compliance programs, ensuring that lab processes comply with evolving standards.  
  • - Write standard operating procedures and manuals as needed.  
  •  -Develop tools to process and analyze data in an accurate and reproducible way. 
  • - Perform data mining and analysis as required.



The physical requirements and environmental conditions of this position consist primarily of:

  • Continuous mental and visual attention, requiring sustained attention and observation
  • Ability to work at a PC monitor for most of the work day
